About Project
This project provides competitively-priced, effective test prep and tutoring services to students in Los Angeles, CA and surrounding areas. The client invests their resources and expertise to partner with schools and nonprofit organizations to offer tutoring and test preparation in economically disadvantaged areas in an effort to foster equity in the college admissions process.
Problem Statement (Challenges)
On this project, the client grappling with manual data analysis and tracking student progress, hindering lesson planning and responsiveness. Tutors lack autonomy, and substitutes face challenges in continuing lessons seamlessly. The client aim is to streamline processes, empower tutors, and improve adaptability for better educational outcomes.

The goal of Mundo Academy LMS is to create a comprehensive and user-centric digital platform that facilitates effective communication, learning, and support for students in schools along the border of the USA whose native language is not English. The platform aims to bridge language barriers and provide a seamless experience for administrators, content managers, supervisors, tutors, principals, and class teachers. Through intuitive design, multilingual capabilities, and inclusive features, Mundo Academy seeks to empower educators and students alike, enhancing educational outcomes and fostering a sense of belonging within diverse communities.

Technical Implementation
The platform leveraged React with TypeScript to deliver a modern, responsive frontend with distinct portals tailored for different roles:
- Staff Portal: Facilitates organizational communication and operations.
- Tutor Portal: Enables tracking and management of student progress.
- Admin Portal: Allows oversight of courses and classes across schools.
On the backend, Ruby on Rails was used to create a robust and scalable API for data handling, supported by PostgreSQL for secure data storage.
Wireframing
Our team collaboratively creates wireframes for the project, aligning with the client's goals of streamlining processes, empowering tutors, and enhancing adaptability for improved educational outcomes. Through iterative design, we ensure the wireframes effectively address the challenges of manual data analysis, lesson planning hindrances, and substitute difficulties. Our collective effort aims to deliver intuitive and efficient solutions that meet the needs of both educators and students.
UI Design System
The design process focused on accessibility and simplicity, ensuring an intuitive experience for users from diverse technical and educational backgrounds. Dashboards were optimized for presenting complex data in a visually engaging and easily interpretable format.
Results
We designed user-friendly interfaces and developed a web application to streamline processes, ensuring secure, digital data management and faster onboarding.
